What happens in the event of Scratches?
What happens if a participant withdraws from an event after you've placed your bet? Let's break down Rule 4 deductions.
What is a Rule 4 deduction?
Rule 4 is used when a participant is withdrawn from an event, after bets have been placed.
This is an industry standard where a quoted deduction is applied for every 1.00 unit of currency won.
How does it affect your bet?
The deduction amount depends on the odds of the withdrawn participant at the time of withdrawal. Simply put, the shorter the odds of the withdrawn participant, the larger the Rule 4 deduction will be.
Rule 4 can be shown by a R4 graphic below the race meet and time.

What if my selection is the scratch?
If your selection is the scratch, it will be declared no action. Let's see how it affects your bet type.
Straight Bets: Your wager will be refunded.
Parlays: The bet stands and will be settled based on the remaining selections. For instance, if you placed a 3 Leg Parlay and one selection is deemed no action, your bet will now be settled as a 2 Leg Parlay on the remaining two selections.
